The Atlanta Braves announced Tuesday that closer Raisel Iglesias was placed on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. Backdated to April 20, the move comes after he slept badly on his shoulder.

Fortunately, his MRI did not reveal any structural damage and it is likely that his time on the injured list will be short-lived. Mark Bowman of MLB.com reported that the club debated resting him for 4-5 days but instead opted to place him on the IL so as to not go short in the bullpen.

Iglesias has already recorded five saves in eight games this season and has proven to be a key part of the ‘pen.

To take his spot on the roster, left-hander Dylan Dodd was recalled.
