The San Francisco Giants continue their three-game series against the Chicago Cubs this evening from Wrigley Field.
Taking the mound for the Giants will be right-hander Justin Verlander, who enters today’s game with a 4.38 ERA, 4.14 FIP, with 32 strikeouts to 13 walks in 37 innings pitched over seven starts. His last start was in the Giants’ 4-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday, in which he allowed two runs on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in six and a third innings.
He’ll be facing off against Cubs right-hander Colin Rea, who enters today’s game with a 1.46 ERA, 2.50 FIP with 21 strikeouts to five walks in 24.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Cubs’ 8-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday, in which he allowed two runs on four hits with two strikeouts and walks in six innings.
