The Los Angeles Angels took a 7-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. In the game, Mike Trout hit a solo homerun, tying a franchise record in the process.

The Angels had an off day on Thursday, which gave Trout a chance to reflect on an off-the-field moment, as he posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“Having Trout National open is a true full circle moment. What started as a hometown vision is now a reality, built alongside an incredible group of family, friends, and partners who believed in it from the start. Grateful for all of you. Thank you!” Trout posted.

Trout Nationals is a new golf club in Millville, New Jersey, the hometown of the Angels star. It was designed by Tiger Woods for Trout and his development partner, John Ruga. The course officially opened on April 15, with preview play starting last fall. It is a course that is over 280 acres with a par of 72.  Trout spoke to Golfweek previously about the design and the opening of the course.

“Some of my favorite golf experiences have been ones that have challenged my game while still having fun, and that’s what we wanted to create at Trout National – The Reserve,” Trout said. “Tiger, John and I walked hole by hole, and this course will do just that. Our vision and his design is creating something special here in my hometown.”

If the average fan wants to enjoy Trout’s course, that may not be possible. It is a limited membership club that requires an invitation to join. With membership limited to 227 members, a nod to Trout’s jersey number, the cost estimates for a membership could be upwards of half a million.
