One night after nearly being no-hit, the Milwaukee Brewers seek to get back on track against the Pittsburgh Pirates at American Family Field on Saturday, April 25.
The Brewers send right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (1-2, 3.04) to the mound, and he’ll face Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller (2-1, 2.79).
Another costly plunking
For the second time in three innings, Misiorowski hit the leadoff man – this time Ryan O’Hearn, who was barely nicked in the leg and then needed a successful challenge by the Pirates to stick at first base.
Nick Gonzales singled O’Hearn to second and both runners advanced on a wild pitch, with O’Hearn then coming in to score on Spencer Horwitz’s sacrifice fly to left.
An eventful fourth inning
Misiorowski plunked Bryan Reynolds to open the fourth inning and three singles and a bunch of soft contact later Pittsburgh had pushed a pair of runs across to take the lead.
But Jake Bauers dropped a bloop single into short left field that Jake Mangum misplayed, allowing Bauers to scoot to second base, and then Tyler Black dropped a bloop double down the left-field line to put runners on second and third with nobody out to start the Milwaukee fourth.
Garrett Mitchell’s grounder to shortstop plated Bauers, then Sal Frelick’s fly ball to right drove in Black to tie it at 2-2.
