Geneva College senior first baseman and designated hitter Kirk Bearjar was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference hitter of the week.
The Forest Hills graduate went 13-for-23 (.565) and slugged 1.174 after he finished the week with three home runs, three doubles, a triple, seven RBIs and eight runs. He went a near-perfect 7-for-9 at the plate in the Golden Tornadoes’ split with Hiram Wednesday, totaled two home runs, two doubles and four RBIs while scoring three runs. Bearjar followed up that performance with a 4-for-7 effort in Geneva’s doubleheader sweep of Waynesburg Saturday, hitting another home run, a triple and a double while picking up three more RBIs and five runs.
