CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – ESPN’s Jeff Passan is reporting that the Cleveland Guardians are calling up former No. 1 overall draft pick Travis Bazzana to the Major League roster.
His first appearance will mark his Major League debut.
This season at Triple-A, the 23-year-old posted a batting average of .287 with two home runs, 11 doubles, two triples, and 10 RBI’s in 24 games.
He also played for Australia in the World Baseball Classic, and batted .188 with one home run and two RBI’s.
Bazzana was selected by Cleveland with the top overall pick in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft out of Oregon State.
He is rated as the Guardians’ No. 1 overall prospect in the organization.
The Guardians will host the Rays on Tuesday at 6:10 p.m.
