Winona, Minn. (Northern State) – Northern baseball finished their season Saturday with their last game of the Winona series. Despite taking an early lead and scoring in six of the seven innings played, the Wolves took a loss to end the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Warriors tied things up in the bottom of the first with two runs
NSU goes back on top with a Jack Weidner home run to right center, his first of the game
Going up 4-2 in the third due to a Dalton Kesti right center homer was Northern
Winona scored eight runs in the third to turn the tides of the game, Warriors on top 10-4
Weidner gets his second right center homer of the game to get NSU back on the board
The fourth inning saw two WSU runs and the fifth inning saw one WSU run; Warriors extended their lead to 13-5
A second home run by Kesti added two runs to Northern’s total, making the game 13-7 Winona
WSU put up 14 runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow the game open with a 27-7 lead
Easton Rerick homered to right to round out the Wolves’ scoring; the game ends in a 27-8 Winona run rule victory
