The Hazard Lady Bulldogs’ Ragan Elkins and Sami Noble combined to go two of four with two home runs, five RBIs, two runs scored and walked two times to help lead Hazard to 7-1 home win over the Johnson Central Lady Golden Eagles last Tuesday.

In the top of the second inning, Noble hit a three-run home run to give Hazard a 3-0 lead. Ryleigh Griffith followed with a two RBI single to give Hazard a 5-0 lead after two innings of play.

Johnson Central finally saw their best chance in the top of the third inning to break the ice getting bases loaded, but with two outs.

In the bottom of the third inning, Noble drew a two out walk which led to the other big shot of the game for Hazard when Elkins hit a two run home run that increased the Lady Bulldogs’ lead to 7-0 after three innings of play.

In the top of the fourth inning, Johnson Central was able to finally break the ice when Arabella Bowen led the top half of the inning off with a solo home run to cut Hazard’s lead to 7-1 in the top of the fourth inning.

The Lady Golden Eagles were looking to keep things going when Molly Music got on with a single on the next at-bat. The Johnson Central rally was short lived as the Lady Bulldogs got the next three Lady Golden Eagles batters out on a pop out and back-to-back strikeouts to end the top of the fourth inning.

Hazard walked away with the 7-1 over Johnson Central.

Bowen took the loss in the circle for the Lady Golden Eagles as she threw two innings giving up five runs (two earned) on four hits, while walking one batter and striking out two batters. Bowen did lead Johnson Central at the plate, going one of three with a solo home run, one RBI and one run scored. Music, and Josie Dials were both one of three at the plate.

The loss dropped the Lady Golden Eagles to 7-13 on the season. Next up for Johnson Central is on Wednesday, May 6 on the road at Prestonsburg set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Noble led Hazard at the plate going one of one with a three run home run, three RBIs, one run scored, and walked two times. 

Noble also got the win in the circle tossing seven innings giving up one run on four hits, while striking out 11 batters and walking only one batter. 

Ragan Elkins who was one of three a the plate with a two run home run, two RBIs and one run scored. Maggie Combs was two of three at the plate with one run scored, and struck out one time. Halle Jones was two of three at the plate with one run scored.
