CENTER VALLEY, PA. – Notre Dame takes on Bristol at Desales University in a PIAA Class 3A baseball play-in game.
Notre Dame scored three in the first, but Bristol answered with one in the fourth.
In the bottom of the sixth, Crusaders up 3-1, when Paul Smith rips a double to left, Austin Casal, who led off the inning with a triple, trots home. Crusaders go up 4-1.
Two batters later Colin Pevorus .hops the high bunt to third, Bristol’s Harry Scancella fields it, but airmails it to first. Smith scores to give the Crusaders a 5-1 lead.
After a ground out made it 6-1, Clemente Cintron helps his cause singling to left. That plates Blake Benolken for the 7-1 lead.
Jason Fredrick follows by singling to left, scoring Matt Robertshaw.
Crusaders advance, 8-1.
