Merrimack native Mickey Gasper went 3-for-4 with an RBI while starting at catcher for the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Gasper recorded his first hit in a Red Sox uniform in the second inning, followed by a run-scoring single in the sixth. He wrapped his day with a double in the ninth. He previously played in 13 games for Boston in 2024 without recording a hit. Gasper also spent time with the Minnesota Twins in 2025 and was with the Washington Nationals during the 2026 offseason before being designated for assignment and claimed by the Red Sox off waivers.
