How far Mississippi State fell in college baseball polls after Auburn series loss

STARKVILLE — A second consecutive SEC series loss for Mississippi State baseball dropped the Bulldogs in the latest polls again.

The Bulldogs (38-14, 15-12 SEC) fell one spot to No. 12 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll released on May 11. They also fell two spots to No. 13 in the D1Baseball poll.

MSU’s RPI is down to No. 12 after losing two of three games against Auburn at Dudy Noble Field.

One series remains for Mississippi State in the regular season at No. 10 Texas A&M (37-12, 16-10) starting May 14 (6 p.m., SEC Network+). Mississippi State is tied with Florida and Arkansas for sixth place in the SEC standings.

A series win at Texas A&M would be the Bulldogs’ first over a team in the top half of the SEC standings.
