After a stretch in which he was one of the hottest hitters in the minor leagues, ex-Palo Alto High School star Henry Bolte is reportedly set to be called up by the Athletics and make his Major League debut.

Bolte, multiple outlets reported Monday, is set to be promoted to A’s as they prepare to begin a six-game homestand, starting with a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.

Bolte, from Thursday to Saturday, hit safely in 12 straight plate appearances, including nine for extra bases for Triple-A Las Vegas in games on Friday and Saturday against St. Paul. After the weekend, Bolte, 22, had a .348/.418/.658 slash line with 12 homers, seven doubles, and 17 stolen bases in 37 games at Triple-A.

The A’s will need to add Bolte to their A’s 40-man roster and make a corresponding move on the 26-man roster when they formally select Bolte’s contract.

Bolte was selected by the A’s in the second round, 56th overall, in the 2022 draft when the franchise was still in Oakland. In his senior season at Paly that year, Bolte hit .441 in 33 games, helping the Vikings go 26-7 and advance to the Central Coast Section Division I final.

Bolte also had a .577 on-base percentage to go with 42 RBI and 57 runs scored, and was named Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division MVP and was a first-team all-Bay Area News Group first-team selection.

Bolte rose through the A’s system and was promoted to Triple-A last year. In 71 games for Las Vegas, Bolte had a .973 OPS with 14 homers, 42 RBI, and 30 stolen bases. He is considered the A’s fifth-best prospect.

The A’s entered this week with a two-game lead over the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West. After their three-game series with the Cardinals, the A’s host the Giants for a three-game set that starts Friday.
