ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs — two of the National League’s top teams — face off Tuesday night at Truist Park in a game broadcast live on Atlanta News First.
The matchup also carries added emotion, marking the Braves’ first home game since the deaths of Atlanta icons and franchise legends Ted Turner and Bobby Cox.

3rd inning
Another 1-2-3 inning for Grant Holmes. He struck out Pete Crow-Armstrong on an 83.7 mph curveball in the dirt. During his first trip through the Chicago Cubs’ order, Holmes allowed no hits, one walk and recorded three strikeouts, three groundouts and three lineouts.
The Braves got on the board in the third inning, with Mike Yastrzemski driving in Dom Smith on an RBI single to left.

2nd inning
Grant Holmes walked a Cub, but otherwise it was a clean inning for the right-hander. Austin Riley, however, nearly took Colin Rea deep – or at least for extra bases – but Pete Crow-Armstrong made an incredible catch in the outfield to ruin those plans.

1st inning
Slow start offensively for both teams. Grant Holmes struck out Michael Conforto and got Alex Bregman, and Nico Hoerner to ground out. Cubs right-hander Colin Rea set down the Braves in order, too.
