The Toronto Blue Jays (19-24) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (28-14) 5-3 in ten innings on Wednesday night at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Rays were unable to complete a three-game sweep of their AL east rivals.

This game was a pitching duel through nine innings, thanks to a great start from Griffin Jax, who pitched five shutout innings in which he allowed just four hits while striking out one and walking one.

Tied 1-1 after nine innings, the Rays got two runs in the top of the tenth inning. In the bottom of the tenth the Blue Jays were able to lead the bases before Daulton Varsho hit a walk-off grand slam that lifted Toronto to the win.

The Rays are now off on Thursday before beginning a three-game series with the Miami Marlins on Friday night. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7:10 PM – pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
