On Monday night, the Cleveland Guardians will open up a series with the Detroit Tigers in Michigan.
They are coming off a series where they took two out of three from the Cincinnati Reds.

Before their series with the Tigers, the Guardians released Kolby Allard.
Tim Stebbins of MLB.com wrote (on Sunday): “The Guardians are granting Kolby Allard his release. He had an opt-out clause today, but they’re hopeful they may re-sign him.”

Allard has a 10.38 ERA in four games this season.
That said, the 28-year-old had gone 2-2 with a 2.63 ERA in 33 games during the 2025 season.

Allard was the 14th pick in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves.
He spent his rookie season with the franchise before four seasons on the Texas Rangers.
