The Guardians did the impossible and took down the Angels today after trailing 3-0 early. This was a win that I felt like the Guardians really needed, as the Angels seem to have their number. It was a huge game for Gabriel Arias, as he went 2-4 with the game winning hit that was a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 7th that was hit 110 mph off the bat. Let’s hope today was the start of him coming out of the slump that he has been in. José Ramírez went 2-3 with a HR and was intentionally walked twice. He continues to have an incredible season even by his standards. Steven Kwan went 3-5 with his first HR in over a month which was a great sight to see. Carlos Santana went 2-4 with HR and Nolan Jones went 1-4 with a triple.

It wasn’t a great start for Slade Cecconi today and he didn’t appear to have the same command that we saw in his first few starts. It also seemed like his velocity was down a little bit. He gave up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in three walks in 4.1 innings pitched. The bullpen was flawless today as they combined for 4.2 scoreless innings in relief.

The Guardians will look to take the series against the Angels tomorrow at 1:40 pm ET. It will be Gavin Williams vs Jack Kochanowicz.
