Tigers 3, Royals 2
BET TIGERS (+125).
Sunday’s series finale sets up as another low-scoring battle likely decided in the late innings. With that in mind, there’s value in backing one of the league’s top teams at plus money.
Bubic has been excellent this season, better than Montero, but the edge in offensive firepower goes to the Tigers. Montero has been sharp lately, allowing just 2 ER over his last 3 starts (17 1/3 innings).
Detroit has dominated this matchup, winning 7 of the last 10 meetings. The Tigers are also strong on the road, going 17-13 while hitting .253 away from home—fifth-best in the majors. With a +85 run differential on the season, Detroit continues to prove they’re among MLB’s most complete teams. Getting them at plus odds in a tight pitching matchup makes for a smart play on Sunday.
PASS.
I don’t like the run line bets, I’ll stay with the Tigers moneyline.
BET UNDER 8 (-102).
Sunday’s matchup has all the signs of another pitching duel. The Under is 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings between the Tigers and Royals. Detroit has stayed Under in 8 of its last 10 games, while Kansas City has gone Under in 2 of its last 3. Montero and Bubic have combined for 6 Unders in their last 8 starts.
