NORTH MUSKEGON – On senior night, the Reeths-Puffer Rockets lost a tough baseball game to Fruitport, 5-3 that went into extra innings May 27.
The Trojans got off to a quick lead in the top of the second inning as a home run brought two home.
In the bottom of the fourth, Brendan Guikema singled, driving in Ethan Frang.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Rockets were able to tie the game at 2-2, with the second run scoring on a single by Jack Yonkman, which would send the game into extra innings.
In the eighth inning, Fruitport got their two runs to win the game.
Guikema, Yonkman and Frang each drove in a run.
On the mound for the Rockets, Drew Brooks started, giving up two runs, one hit, struck out two and walked one om two innings of work.
Colton Bessinger went two innings and gave up one hit, Brayden Mitchelson also pitched two innings, and allowed one run on two hits.
Yonkman took the loss and gave up two runs on five hits and also gave up one walk.
