ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Rangers placed right-hander Cole Winn on the 15-day injured list with arm fatigue and recalled right-hander Gavin Collyer from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Sunday’s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels at Angels Stadium. Winn, who has a 5.59 ERA this season, reported the injury after he allowed two runs in Saturday’s 5-2 loss.
The 26-year-old landed on the injured list last season with a nerve irritation that caused tingling and numbness in his arm.
“He felt it even more this morning and you don’t want to push a shoulder thing,” Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said. “He had a little bit of similar stuff last year so we’ll see what it looks like.”
Collyer, who was optioned to the minor leagues Tuesday after the club activated right-hander Chris Martin off the injured list, had a 2.84 ERA in his first big league stint this season. The 25-year-old pitched a scoreless inning against El Paso Saturday night.
