After a rough year on the mound, the blue and white took another beating.
The Nittany Lions posted the Big Ten’s worst ERA last season, and last year’s blue and white leader in the stat, Harrison Lollin, announced his decision to enter the transfer portal.
The Monroe Township, New Jersey, native was a former top-ten recruit from his state, but struggled during his freshman year with an ERA over 10. This season, however, Lollin experienced a return to form, with 11 total appearances and a 4.05 ERA.
This end-of-year figure marked the only blue and white arm in the regular bullpen to record an ERA under five. Lollin uses an arsenal of five pitches, a low 90s fastball, a cutter, slider, curveball and changeup, which gave him a much larger selection than last year’s bullpen options.
Lollin now looks for a change of scenery for the remainder of his collegiate career and to build off that already strong opportunity.
