West Sacramento has officially announced its pursuit of a Major League Baseball expansion team, inviting sports fans from across the capital region to rally behind the effort.For many fans, the announcement represents a chance to bring a permanent MLB franchise to Sacramento after hosting the Athletics at Sutter Health Park.”It’s a potential. We hope it comes to fruition,” baseball fan, Kim Vizcarra, told KCRA.Others said Sacramento has already proven it can support Major League Baseball. Supporters pointed to strong attendance at A’s games, the region’s growth and Sacramento’s passionate sports culture as reasons the city deserves a shot at the big leagues.”We’re the biggest market with only one of the big five sports teams.
