Freshman southpaw Adam Rose and senior righthander Zadok Roiger were models of efficiency on the mound Thursday pitching OFA and Canton into the Class B championship game of the Section 10 Baseball Tournament Saturday.

Both hurlers consistently got ahead of batters and picked up 10-0 wins as their teams advanced.

The Blue Devils reversed two NAC Central losses to Potsdam as Rose used 70 pitches to pitch his second straight win. Logan VanGorden secured the last two outs of the shutout.

Canton won the rubber game of a three-game set with Gouverneur with Roiger needing only 51 pitches to dispatch the Wildcats.

“Adam Rose had great control with only one walk. He moved the ball around very well and his curve was very effective. We are playing our best baseball of the season right now. We only had one error today,” said OFA Coach Brooks Brenno. “We go into the championship game with all of our pitchers ready to go and so do they. It should be a very good game.”
