MUSKEGON TWP. — Montague’s Cooper Bradley came up with four hits in six at-bats as the Wildcats routed Reeths-Puffer, 11-1 May 27, in a game that went the full seven innings, and was the final regular season game for both schools.

And the scoring for the Wildcats began in the top of the first inning.

Cooper Bradley singled, Fletcher Thommen walked, and Cole Moss singled, bringing in Bradley.

Eli Petersen then doubled, scoring Moss, and the Wildcats led 2-0.

The Rockets went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning.

The Wildcats added three more runs in the top of the second inning.

Two walks, one by Fletcher Thommen and Moss and a fielder’s choice by Moss, Bradley came home on an error by the Rocket’s catcher Brendan Guikema.

Following a single by Dylan Bailey, Eli Petersen singled, bringing home Tyson Schattenberg, who came in as a courtesy runner for Thommen.

Just like that, the Wildcats had a 5-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Rockets’ Paul Smith was hit by a pitch, but they couldn’t score.

The top of the third saw the Wildcats get a walk by Cole Herremans and a Bradley single, but they did not score.

The Rockets’ Hank Mitchelson provided a single in the bottom of the inning, but they could not drive him in.

And the Wildcats took full advantage.

A walk by Moss, a single by Bailey, and another walk to Petersen set the stage.

Eli Pendell was hit by a pitch, and Moss scored.

Johnson then hit into a fielder’s choice, and Petersen was thrown out at third, and Bailey was able to score.

Chase Kurtzhal walked, and Bradley singled, and Johnson and Pendell would score.

That gave the Wildcats a 9-0 advantage.

Reeths-Puffer would get their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Ethan Frang singled, as did Connor McManus and Smith.

Brayden Meuwenberg grounded out, but Landon Learn, a courtesy runner for Frang, scored.

Petersen, in the top of the fifth inning, walked but the Wildcats could not muster any runs.

The Rockets went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the fifth.

Then, in the top of the sixth, following a double by Levi Auger, Bradley singled, scoring Auger.

Despite having Guikema getting by a pitch in the bottom of the sixth, the Rockets again did not score.

The Wildcats scored their final run of the game in the top of the seventh inning.

Bailey singled, Petersen walked, then Herremans was hit by a pitch.

Johnson was also hit by a pitch, bringing home Bailey.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Rockets got a single by Landon Baker, but couldn’t score.

For the Wildcats, Bradley finished the game with two runs, four hits and three runs-batted-in.

Moss had three runs, one hit, one RBI and two walks.

Bailey scored two runs with three hits.

Petersen came up with two hits, three RBIs and three walks.

Johnson scored one run, got one RBI, one walk and one strikeout; Auger scored one run, one hit and struck out twice, and Thommen had two walks and one strikeout.

Pendell had one hit, one RBI and one walk; Caleb Rice had one strikeout; Kellen VanSickle got a walk, and Kurtzhal also got one walk.

Petersen got the win on the mound as he went three innings, giving up one hit and striking out four.

Rice came in and pitched four innings, giving up four hits and one run, one earned run and three strikeouts.

Frang collected one hit and struck out once; Meuwenberg scored the only run for the Rockets with one RBI and struck out once.

McManus got one hit, along with Smith, Mitchelson and Baker.

Yonkman struck out twice, and Lee struck out once.

The Rockets sent several pitchers to the mound.

Frang pitched two innings and gave up two hits, one run, one earned run and had three strikeouts.

Smith threw one-third of an inning, giving up one hit, one run, and one earned run.

Eli Bessinger pitched two-thirds of an inning, getting one strikeout.

Meuwenberg pitched one inning, giving up one hit, one run, one earned run and got one strikeout.

Landon Padilla went one inning, giving up two hits and three runs, three earned runs and one strikeouts.

Mitchelson also went one inning, giving up two hits, three runs, three earned runs and one strikeout.

Baker, who got the loss, went one inning, giving up three hits, two runs, two earned, and one strikeout.
