Carter, whose left foot was hit by a pitch in the seventh inning of Friday’s series opener vs. the Kansas City Royals at Globe Life Field, did not start Sunday’s finale but is available to play if needed. The 23-year-old didn’t play Saturday, underwent precautionary scans and “didn’t feel good enough to start” Sunday, per Rangers manager Skip Schumaker.

“We wanted to see how he felt early on today in the running drills and throwing and everything,” Schumaker said. “He’s still getting treatment and we feel like he would be available at some point today if needed.”

Osuna exited Saturday’s game vs. the Royals after a bunt attempt in the fourth inning caught the tip of his left index finger. The 23-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed no fracture, and started Sunday’s game in left field.

“He felt good,” Schumaker said. “He came out this morning and threw. The issue was throwing, not grabbing the bat, but throwing the baseball. He lost the feeling in his fingers [yesterday] but he’s good to go.”
