Alec Bohm gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead with a solo homer in the second inning as the Phillies won for the fourth time in their last five games and improved to 21-9 since interim manager Don Mattingly took over the team on April 28.
The Dodgers took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning on Santiago Espinal’s sacrifice fly and made it a two-run game on Mookie Betts’ RBI single in the seventh. Roki Sasaki struck out seven in 5.1 innings, allowing a run on three hits while taking a no-decision. Betts finished 3-for-4 to raise his average to .200 on the season.
2025 World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto (4-4) starts the series finale for Los Angeles. He enters the day with a 3.09 ERA and 0.984 WHIP in 10 starts and 64 innings. The Phillies counter with right-hander Andrew Painter (1-5), who holds a 5.40 ERA and 1.460 WHIP in 43.2 innings this season.
