JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Red Wolves baseball greats Liam Hicks and Tyler Zuber are making headlines in MLB.
A-State in MLB (6/1/26)
Liam Hicks (Marlins C/1B/DH – MLB)
– 3 hits including RBI single on May 30th.
– 2026: .268 batting average with 11 HR and 45 runs batted in. The 45 RBI is tied for 3rd in all of MLB.
– Played for Canada in 2026 World Baseball Classic
– Hicks hit .247 in his rookie season with 6 home runs and 45 RBI.
Tyler Zuber (Marlins P – MLB)
– Marlins selected Zuber’s contract on June 1st. He has 2 wins and 2 saves in 20 appearances this season for AAA Jacksonville. 43 strikeouts in 27.2 innings, allowed 28 hits and 16 earned runs. Recorded saves on May 19th and May 27th.
– Appeared in 6 games in 2026 Spring Training, struck out 12 in 9 total innings of work, allowed 4 earned runs, 10 hits, and 4 walks.
– Appeared in 10 games for the Mets and Marlins in 2025. 14 K in 12 innings of work, allowed 17 hits and 15 earned runs. Had stretch of 8 scoreless innings across 5 appearances in August.
Kyler Carmack (Phillies P – Single-A Clearwater)
– On 60-day injured list
– Selected in 20th round of 2024 MLB Draft.
– 2023 NCBWA Freshman All-American with the Red Wolves. He had 5 wins, a 3.23 ERA, and 60 strikeouts in 69 plus innings. Cabot native transferred to Ole Miss for 2024, appeared in 9 games.
