The Cincinnati Reds snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday, defeating the Atlanta Braves 6-4. Now, into June of the 2026 MLB season, Cincinnati is 30-28 and in fifth place in the National League Central.

Going into their Monday match against the Kansas City Royals, the Reds are dealing with a handful of injuries. In Sunday’s win, shortstop Elly De La Cruz suffered a right hamstring injury while running the bases.

He was then placed on the 10-day injury list. While speaking to reporters, manager Terry Francona said the two-time All-Star is expected to miss two to four weeks with a hamstring strain.

While the fourth-year veteran likely won’t be back in the lineup for several weeks, he is making moves off the field. On Monday, in a joint Instagram post, De La Cruz announced a new partnership with the restaurant chain, Red Robin.

“Elly ‘lost’ his Slider Glove ⚾🍔 Anybody seen it??” Slide into Red Robin soon to try the Towering Sliders, expertly crafted with a Slider Glove 😉 #ToweringSliders #RedRobinPartner #EllyDeLaCruz,” the post’s caption read.

So far this season, De La Cruz has been a major contributor for the Reds. He’s appeared in 58 games, accumulating 232 at-bats, 65 hits, 40 runs scored, 37 RBIs, 12 home runs and 10 stolen bases. He is also slashing .280/.346/.509 with a .855 OPS.

With this latest partnership announced, the 24-year-old focuses on getting back to full strength. With Cincinnati six games behind the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers, they will be eager to get De La Cruz back as soon as possible.
