The top two pitchers in the Seattle Mariners farm system are continuing to rise up many prospect publications’ and gurus’ ranking boards, respectively.

Left-handed pitcher Kade Anderson (No. 6 MLB Pipeline top 100; No. 2 Mariners prospect) and right-hander Ryan Sloan (No. 21 MLB Pipeline Top 100; No. 3 team prospect) are coming off dominant months and were named Seattle’s co-Pitchers of the Month on Thursday.

Anderson finished May with a 2.13 ERA and struck out 37 hitters in 25.1 innings pitched across five starts. He allowed six earned runs on 17 hits (two home runs) and issued just three free bases, all of which were walks.

Sloan had a 3.52 ERA across five starts in May. He fanned 32 hitters in 23 innings pitched and allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 21 hits (two homers). He issues three free bases: two walks and one hit batter.

Both starting pitchers are considered among the best at their position per various publications.

Anderson is the highest-ranked left-handed pitcher and second-ranked overall pitcher on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 rankings. He’s ranked as the top left-handed pitcher and third-highest starting pitcher on Baseball America’s top 100.

Sloan is ranked as the top overall pitcher on Baseball America’s top 100 and the fourth-highest overall pitcher on MLB Pipeline’s.

Anderson was selected with the third overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft out of LSU. He joined Seattle’s organization considered the most major league-ready starting pitching prospect in the draft.

This year is Anderson’s first in the minor leagues and he’s met and exceeded the expectations many analysts had for him. With the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, the former NCAA College World Series Most Outstanding Player had a 1.43 ERA and fanned 67 hitters in 44 innings pitched across nine starts.

Sloan was picked by the Mariners in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He began this year with Double-A after spending ’25 with the Single-A Modesto Nuts and High-A Everett AquaSox.

The 20-year-old had a rough star to his Double-A tenure and finished April with a 5.65 ERA through four starts.

Sloan has started to pick up the production since and capped off May with a perfect outing. He struck out 11 hitters and didn’t issue a free base or allow a hit in six innings pitched May 30.

For the season, Sloan has a 4.34 ERA and has fanned 49 batters in 37.1 innings pitched across nine starts.
