WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The Watertown Rapids beat Rochester Thursday night in collegiate summer league baseball, while Canton advanced in high school softball playoffs.

With a 1 run lead in the diurst inning, a wild pitch. allowed Will Harrison to score from third, upping the Rapids’ lead to 2-0.
Peyton Adams would also score on a Grant Bizanet single.
Watertown ended up winning a close game 13-12.

Massena got off to an early 1-0 lead when Marcus Firnstein singled to center field, setting up a Drake Love score.
But after that it was mostly New Hartford; With the bases loaded, Ashton Palmer knocked in three runs for New Hartford to go up 3-1.
Luke LaFountain would add to the New Hartford total, knocking in three runs.
Cam Francis stole home for Massena’s second run, but thef final score ended up New Hartford 15, Massena 2.
Class B SubregionalUtica-Notre Dame vs. Canton
It was a pitching duel early between Canton’s Zadok Roiger and Utica’s Owen Bougourd. Pitcher-on-pitcher, Roiger gets the strikeout in a 1-2 3 first inning.
Then, in the bottom of the first inning, Roiger hit the ball to left-center, driving in Canton’s first run.
CAnton kept goling in the third inning, when Parker Ames hit a deep fly to center, letting Lukas Clausen score. That made it 2-0 Canton.
Moving to the pivotal fifth, Dan Williams singled to center field, putting two on board for Utica.
Thomas Carvelle drove in Utica’s sixth run. Utica Notre Dame went on to defeat Canton 7-2.
NEW YORK STATE SOFTBALL PLAYOFFSClass B SubregionalCanton vs. Marcellus
Canton rolled over Mrcellus.
Tessa Alguire singled to centerfield and knocked in two runs. That put Canton up 8-0.
Jenna Larrabee contributed the hit which led to two more runs
Alguire got the complete game victory. Canton racked up 15 hits, en-route to a 16-3 win over Marcellus.
