LAS VEGAS – Who knows what will happen on Tuesday night, June 9 as the Milwaukee Brewers again take on the Athletics in an interleague matchup at Las Vegas Ballpark?
Madness abounded when the teams kicked off the series on Monday, with the Brewers eventually pulling out a 15-14, 12-inning win.
Left-hander Robert Gasser (0-2, 4.73) starts for the Brewers while right-hander JT Ginn (3-3, 2.74) counters for the A’s.
Henry Bolte’s first career homer puts A’s in front
Gasser allowed a single to Jonah Heim, last night’s nemesis for Milwaukee, then gave up the first homer of Henry Bolte’s major-league career on a changeup down.
Bolte sent it past the pool and out of the park to right-center, 446 feet away, to put the A’s up, 3-2.
Nick Kurtz does it again
Buckle up.
Nick Kurtz, the A’s young slugger, got under a 2-2 sweeper from Robert Gasser and sent it about 10 feet past the fence in right for his 15th home run. The ball flight was similar to Jonah Heim’s game-tying blast from the opener, getting up into the stream and simply soaring past the wall.

That didn’t take long.
The second batter of the game continued the homer party.
After Christian Yelich opened the game by reaching base, Jackson Chourio hit homer number one of the evening with an opposite-field shot while using the bat of teammate Gary Sanchez. Chourio didn’t exactly scald the ball, either; he hit it 94.5 mph but the ball carried out 354 feet.
