Good morning, baseball fans!

The Women’s Professional Baseball League begins later this summer in Springfield, Illinois.

Kelsie Whitmore and the rest of San Francisco’s team will begin their season on August 2nd against Boston. The inaugural season will run from August 2nd through September 6th, with all games taking place at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield.

Fans looking to attend games can purchase tickets now over on the WPBL website. Also, if you go to the main page of their website, there is an option to sign up for their First Pitch Club, and you can indicate that you are interested in travel packages (since the majority of us San Francisco fans are not local to Illinois, shockingly.)

I’ll try to get more updates out as I see them. I’m very much looking forward to the inaugural season and I can’t wait to see them playing in the Bay in the future.

What time do the Giants play today?

The Giants wrap up this three-game series against the Washington Nationals this afternoon at 12:45 p.m. PT.
