The Giants were just six outs away from suffering a brutal three-game sweep at home against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.
San Francisco trailed Washington 9-1 heading into the eighth inning on a warm day at Oracle Park, and then, the almost impossible happened.
The Giants rallied for five runs in the eighth and five runs in the ninth – including a walk-off grand slam from rookie Bryce Eldridge — to cap one of the most historic comebacks in MLB history with an 11-10 win.
