Brewers’ No. 4 prospect Cooper Pratt set for MLB debut vs. Guardians | Sports

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Cooper Pratt is ready for the moment — and the baseball that comes after it.

The Milwaukee Brewers are calling up their No. 4 prospect, and the 21-year-old is set to make his major league debut Tuesday night against the Cleveland Guardians.

Pratt is expected to start at shortstop and bat eighth in his first game in the big leagues. And while he knows there will be a brief moment to take it all in, he says the focus will quickly shift back to what he’s done his entire career.

“I mean, obviously it’s going to be — I’m going to look around for a second, be like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is pretty amazing,’” Pratt said. “But then it goes back to baseball. Like, once the game starts, everything kind of starts to slow down.”

For the Brewers, Pratt’s debut is another step in a future built on young talent. For Pratt, it’s the start of a dream — and the next pitch.
