After a strong pair of seasons with the blue and white, Jack Porter will remain in the Big Ten for a third.
The former Nittany Lions designated hitter and outfielder announced his pledge on Instagram to spend his final season of eligibility with Washington.
Porter brings the necessary skills to the plate for a Huskies team that finished in the bottom three in Big Ten batting average and RBI. Over his last two seasons in the conference, Porter posted over a .310 batting average and had an average OPS of .910.
The Clearwater, Florida, native did experience a regression in power, with his debut 10-homerun total dropping to four last season, while his RBI total tanked by 17. Yet Porter’s real strength was not striking out; last year, he was fourth in the Big Ten in strikeout percentage and dropped his figure in the stat by 35.
Before arriving in Happy Valley in 2025 for his Big Ten Second Team season, Porter spent a year with John A. Logan College and UCF. Out of high school, he was the No. 15 prospect in his state and No. 2 outfielder. Now, he heads to the West Coast to cap a collegiate baseball journey that has had plenty of stops along the way.
