The Los Angeles Dodgers say Japanese two-way star Ohtani Shohei is currently away from the team “to be with his wife, Mamiko, for the birth of the couple’s second child.”
Ohtani was out of the lineup for Friday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Dodgers say he has not been placed on the paternity list and is expected back later this weekend during the three-game series against the Orioles.
