That includes this series’ opener on Monday night, which the Cards took 3-2 by scoring early then holding off a charge from Arizona late. Now in the middle game of this set the Diamondbacks will turn to lefty Eduardo Rodriguez to stop the bleeding, as he gets the start in this one.

Rodriguez has been excellent this season, picking up where he left off after a strong showing in the World Baseball Classic. He’s made 15 starts so far for the Diamondbacks, going 6-2 with a 2.45 ERA. In his last start against the Los Angeles Angels he allowed six hits and one run in seven innings of work, picking up the win.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals will counter with righty Kyle Leahy. He also picked up a quality start last time out allowing three runs with seven strikeouts in six innings. However, he was tabbed for the loss in that one against the San Diego Padres. Prior to that he hadn’t lost a start since late April.
