The start of Wednesday’s Chicago White Sox-Cleveland Guardians game at Rate Field has been delayed because of rain, the team announced. The game was scheduled to begin at 1:10 p.m.
“We’ll provide updates as soon as they are available,” the Sox said as part of a statement on social media.
The Sox (41-37) enter Wednesday’s series finale in first place in the American League Central, one game ahead of the Guardians (41-39). The Sox defeated the Guardians 6-5 on Monday and 2-1 on Tuesday.
Left-hander Chris Murphy is slated to be the opener for the Sox, with right-hander Erick Fedde lined up for the bulk role.
