OTTAWA — The Napoleon Legion Post #300 baseball team traded a handful of one-run innings before breaking a 3-all tie with a pair of runs in the 10th inning to score a 5-3 win over Ottawa Post #63 in Tuesday’s baseball action.

Kenneth Smeltzer (Montpelier) paced the River Bandits, who out-hit Ottawa 13-6, with three singles, while Parker Hancock and Elijah Arend (Fairview) both had two hits. Hancock also drove in a run.

Also for Post #300, Malachi Smeltzer (Montpelier) doubled with a pair of RBI, while Tripp Langenderfer (Archbold), Camden Bukowski (Bryan), Zack Boecker (Holgate), Maddox Baker (Edgerton) and Owen Reynolds each singled.

Bukowski, the fifth pitcher used in the game for the Bandits, nabbed the win after allowing one hit and striking out five in three scoreless innings of relief.

The Bandits (13-5) are back in action today in Kokomo, Indiana for the first day of the four-day Kokomo wood bat tournament.

PETTISVILLE — Wauseon and Pettisville had both scored three runs through four innings Tuesday, but both squads went scoreless for the next five innings before the Blackbirds knocked a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 4-3 victory in ACME baseball action.

Owen Baus ripped the game-winning single to right field to drive in Brantley Wagner. Baus finished with a team-high two hits, while Ryan Bishop singled with an RBI and Rylee Bevard also drove in a run.

Bishop picked up the win on the mound for Pettisville (3-2), allowing two hits and three walks with one strikeout in six scoreless innings of relief.

Ethan Gomez singled twice to lead the Indians (3-5), while Lane Wallischeck singled and drove in three runs. Rico Vazquez doubled once and walked twice.
