KOKOMO, Ind. — The Napoleon Legion Post #300 River Bandits extended their win streak to eight straight wins after they bested Post 502 Blaze 3-1 in the first game and battled for an 8-6 victory over Kokomo Post 6 for a twinbill sweep on Friday.

In the first game, the River Bandits held the Blaze to just one run while they scored three en route to the win.

Camden Bukowski (Bryan) helped lead the River Bandits (16-5) as he smacked a single with an RBI and run while Cade Carlin (Bryan) hit a triple and scored a run.

Tripp Langenderfer (Archbold), Elijah Arend (Fairview) and Maddox Baker (Edgerton) all singled to make up Napoleon’s offense.

Anthony Singer (Fairview) earned the complete-game win for the Bandits as he totaled four strikeouts, one unearned run and seven hits with no walks.

In the nightcap, the Bandits racked up six runs in the seventh to help claim the win over Kokomo Post 6.

Bukowski helped front the Bandits at the plate as he smacked a single with two RBIs and one run.

Singer (single), Baker (two runs), Kenneth Smeltzer (run) and Jackson Poynter from North Central (run, RBI) also helped make up the Bandits’ offense.

Arend earned the win in relief as he tallied three strikeouts, two walks, three runs (two earned) and one hit in one inning.

The River Bandits are back in action today against Kokomo Post 6.

River Bandits 10, Adrian 0

DEFIANCE — The River Bandits scored in each of the first four innings of Wednesday’s game against Adrian Post #275 and four pitchers combined to to throw a one-hit shutout to lift Post #300 to a 10-0 eight-inning win at Defiance High School.

Logan Stein set the tone on the bump for the Bandits, firing three scoreless, not-hit frames with one walk and seven strikeouts. Baker followed with two perfect innings, Zack Boecker (Holgate) struck out one in a perfect inning and Langenderfer (Archbold) allowed one hit with two walks and two strikeouts in a pair of scoreless innings to end the game.

At the plate, Post #300 scored 10 runs on 18 hits, as 11 players tallied at least one hit.

Singer and Malachi Smeltzer fronted the Bandits with three hits and an RBI apiece, while Stein (2 RBI), Kenneth Smeltzer (1B, 2B, RBI) Cade Carlin (RBI) each had a pair of hits. Parker Hancock (RBI) and Owen Reynolds both doubled.
