The Seattle Mariners (42-41) and the Cleveland Guardians (42-40) meet Saturday at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio for the second game of a 3-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze MLB odds around the Mariners vs. Guardians odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Mariners lead 3-2

The Mariners picked up a 3-1 win as slight underdogs (-108) as the Under (7.5) cashed in Friday’s series opener in Cleveland. Seattle collected 6 hits, with SS Colt Emerson going 1 for 2 with a solo home run, 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Cleveland 2B Kahlil Watson went 1 for 4 with a double and the team’s lone RBI.

Seattle has won 3 of the past 5 games, while the Under is 5-1 across the previous 6 outings. On the road, though, the Mariners are 3-6 in the past 9 contests.

Cleveland has dropped 4 of the past 5 games, and it has really struggled offensively with 3B Jose Ramirez (hand) sidelined with a broken bone in his hand. The Guardians have plated just 12 runs in the past 5 games, or 2.4 runs per game (RPG).

Mariners at Guardians picks and predictionsPrediction

Mariners 5, Guardians 2

The MARINERS (-150) are a solid play as moderate favorites, as the pitching trends are clearly in Seattle’s favor.

Gilbert has picked up the pace in June, and he has been absolute money on the road this season. Meanwhile, the offense is really struggling for the Guardians, and Cecconi can’t be trusted to steal a win.

If you’re a little more adventurous, forget the moneyline and back MARINERS -1.5 (+118) at plus-money.

In Seattle’s past 6 wins since June 12, 5 of those victories are by 2 or more runs. So, if you like the Mariners to win, you should like them to cover, too.

UNDER 7.5 (-120) is the lean, but roll with a half-unit play at most.

The Under easily cashed in Friday’s series opener, a 3-1 Seattle win. The Under is 5-1 in the past 6 games for the Mariners, with the offense producing 27 runs in the past 12 games, with 3 or fewer runs in each of those outings. So, it takes a bit of a leap of faith to back Seattle.

The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for the Guardians, too, as the offense continues to plod along.
