TORONTO — Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford was scratched from Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre with left hamstring tightness.
Langford, who has suffered both a quad and forearm strain already this season, has been the club’s hottest hitter since his most recent return from the injured list. He’s slashed .317/.371/.634 with seven home runs since he returned from a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right arm, and despite the fact that he’s only barely played half of the season’s games, his 1.4 WAR, per FanGraphs, ranks fourth among all American League left fielders.
The 24-year-old missed three weeks in his rookie season with a hamstring strain. It was the first of five trips he’s taken to the injured list in two-plus seasons because of soft tissue injuries.
