The Rangers will now hope that another starter avoids a potential injury.

Right fielder Brandon Nimmo collided with the wall to record the final out of Sunday’s 3-2 win against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. He said after the game that he’s “okay” but will be reevaluated before Monday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians.

“I cut my eye and jammed my shoulder pretty good,” Nimmo said, “so we’ll see how I am tomorrow.”

“He hit his head against the wall,” Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said. “That was the biggest the biggest issue for him. I mean, you have glasses on too, the hat, and everything just compresses against your face. It doesn’t feel great. So we’ll see how he feels [tomorrow]. The good news is he got up, was high-fiving people and saying congratulations. So that was a good sign.”
