Top prospect Alfredo Duno to represent Reds at MLB All-Star Futures Game

One of the top catching prospects in baseball will represent the Cincinnati Reds at the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game.Alfredo Duno was announced Wednesday as one of three catchers on the National League squad and the lone representative for Cincinnati.Rated by MLB Pipeline as the Reds’ No. 1 overall prospect, Duno is hitting .260 with a .902 OPS and 16 home runs this season at High-A Dayton.The 20-year-old Duno is the second-highest ranked catching prospect according to MLB Pipeline, behind the St. Louis Cardinals’ Rainiel Rodriguez.Signed by the Reds in January 2023 out of Venezuela, Duno has quickly turned into one of the best power hitters in the minor leagues, with scouts praising his power and quick bat speed.Duno was also a Reds’ representative at the 2025 Futures Game, alongside infielder Sal Stewart, who is now one of the Reds’ top hitters.The Futures Game is an annual exhibition played at the host city of the MLB All-Star Game, showcasing the best talent in the minor leagues.
