IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Fans who stuck out the lightning delay at Kinnick Stadium were treated to a massive party-like atmosphere, where the Savannah Bananas and the Firefighters faced off.
Bananas Head Coach Tyler Gillum said the people of Iowa have made a strong impression.
“Iowa’s great. I mean, it’s the people. Everywhere we go, it’s about the people, you know, and these people are so fired up to see us,” Gillum said. “We signed autographs. When we come to every city, we love the traditions of every city and every stadium. And this one, it’s got so many great traditions here and we’re going to have some fun tonight. We’ve got some surprises for everybody.”
The team incorporated the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital in their game and entertainment, participating in The Wave.
