KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Make that three consecutive years the Kansas City Royals have sent multiple players to the MLB All-Star Game.
Joining shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. in the Midsummer Classic will be starting pitcher Michael Wacha. It’s the first time since 2015 that Wacha has been selected to an All-Star team.
The 35-year-old right-hander has been the Royals’ most reliable — and best — starting pitcher, tossing 17 starts and carrying a 3.31 earned run average. His 109.2 innings pitched and 12 quality starts are the most among American League pitchers.

Wacha was first selected to an All-Star team in 2015 when he pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Wacha is in his second year of a 3-year, $51 million contract with the Royals.
In 2025, the Royals sent Kris Bubic, Carlos Esteves, Maikel Garcia and Witt to the Midsummer Classic. In 2024, Seth Lugo, Salvador Perez, Cole Ragans and Witt were American League All-Stars.
