Diamondbacks are close, but close isn’t good enough against winning teams

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have shown they can compete with some of the best teams in baseball, but finishing the job remains another question.

Sunday’s 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers was another example.
