CLEVELAND — Closer Cade Smith, rookie second baseman Travis Bazzana and rookie starting pitcher Parker Messick have all been selected to represent the Guardians on the AL All-Star Team in 2026.
The selections of Bazzana and Messick make the Guardians the fifth team in MLB history to send multiple rookies to the same All-Star Game.
Bazzana was called up in late April, but that did not stop him from making an impact from the start. He has a batting average of .255 with 7 home runs, 27 RBIs and 12 stolen bases out of the leadoff position.
Messick has had a dominant impact as well, recording a 2.89 ERA and 106 strikeouts across 101 innings. He currently holds a 7-5 record.
Smith earned his first career All-Star selection with 26 saves out of the bullpen, a 2.97 ERA and 57 strikeouts over 39.1 innings.
