The West Burlington-Notre Dame high school softball team split a pair of games on Saturday at the Louisa-Miuscatine Tournament in Letts.
The Falcons beat Columbus, 15-3, in the first game, then dropped a 3-1 game to Class 2A’s fourth-ranked Louisa-Muscatine in the second game.
In the win over the Wildcats, Tannisyn Christofferson went 2-for-3, scored two runs and drove in four. Paige Kramer went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Whitney Snowden went 2-for-3, scorted a run and drove in three runs. Orayana Gonzalez scored three runs and drove in three runs. Faith Gibb scored a run and drove in two. Avery Lillie scored three runs and Chloee Anderson scored two runs.
Madelyn Thomas pitched four innings, allowed one hit and three earned runs, walked five and struck out two.
In the loss to Louisa-Muscatine, Christofferson had a solo home run. Gonzalez pitched six innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs, walked three and struck out three.
Rhylann Lessener drove in two runs for Louisa-Muscatine. Kamryn Taylor pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out six.
WAPELLO DROPS PAIR
The Arrows lost a pair of games in the Jim Turner Classic at Williamsburg.
In a 10-0, five-inning loss to East Marshall, Jaden Ecklund and Taeya Wagner each had a single. Quinn Zweibohmer allowed 13 hits and five earned runs and struck out nine.
In a 5-0 loss to Durant, Mila Jordan pitched three innings, allowing six hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out two. She also had a double.
Zwibohmer pitched two innings, allowing one hit, no earned run, walked two and struck out four.
