The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced the acquisition of right-handed pitcher Will Klein from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor league pitcher Joe Jacques.

The Dodgers also recalled right-hander Ryan Loutos and optioned right-hander Noah Davis. In order to make room on the roster for Klein, the Dodgers designated right-hander Chris Stratton for assignment.

Klein was designated for assignment by the Mariners on May 31. The right-hander has not made a Major League appearance this season. With the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers, he produced a 7.17 ERA with 32 strikeouts and three saves across 22 appearances. 

Jacques never made a Major League appearance for the Dodgers. He signed a minor league contract with the defending champions in November 2024. The left-hander has a career 5.46 ERA with 22 strikeouts and 1.652 WHIP across 29.2 innings pitched.

Loutos made one appearance for the Dodgers this season, where he allowed two earned runs across one inning. The hope is that his second stint with the big league team is better.

Davis pitched in relief for the Dodgers over the weekend. He tossed two scoreless innings in the Dodgers’ 7-3 loss to the New York Yankees Sunday, and will return to the minors for the time being.

The Dodgers signed Stratton last Sunday. The right-hander appeared in two of the three games against the Yankees, throwing five strikeouts and allowing two earned runs across three innings.

The latest news signifies Stratton’s tenure with the Dodgers is likely over.
