PITCHER

Stud

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks ($10,800) — There are a few other options for cheaper prices, but it’s hard to pass on the top pitcher of the slate. Yamamoto has been terrific since joining the Dodgers in 2024, with 2026 being arguably his best year yet. The 27-year-old has a 2.49 ERA through 16 starts and 104.2 innings. His K/BB ratio is back to his rookie-year levels while posting his lowest WHIP of his three-year career (0.88). Yamamoto typically pitches at least six frames, often extending starts into the seventh and eighth innings. Capable of hitting double-digit strikeouts and pitching complete games, Yamamoto is one of few pitchers worth splurging on in DFS.

Value

Nick Lodolo, Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs ($6,600) — The stats don’t jump off the page at you, but that’s because Lodolo struggled in May. He pitched to a 5.20 ERA that month with just one start of one or fewer earned runs. The poor performances dipped into June, highlighted by a seven-run, 11-hit outing against the Mets. Since then, he’s been awesome. Across 15.0 frames, he’s allowed nine total hits and one earned run. These games were against the Brewers twice and the Orioles, so two of three games are high-quality outings. The Cubs are just as good offensively as the Brewers, so it’ll be another test for the 28-year-old lefty.

INFIELD

Stud

Jac Caglianone, Kansas City Royals vs. Baltimore Orioles ($4,400) — The former top prospect is finding his footing in 2026, hitting .257 with 14 home runs and 34 RBI. It’s not elite production, but his .309 average in June was outstanding. Additionally, he’s recorded at least seven FPTS in four straight games (three with exactly seven and one with 12). Kyle Bradish is a tough matchup, but he’s not unhittable. The 29-year right-hander allowed three earned runs in back-to-back starts and is prone to walking batters.

Value

Ernie Clement, Toronto Blue Jays vs. San Diego Padres ($2,800) — Clement puts the ball in play, which is always valuable, but especially so in this game. Walker Buehler is starting for the Padres following starts of seven and nine earned runs. The 31-year-old had been stellar in June, but his two starts in July resemble his typical performances in recent seasons. Clement has a .297 batting average and should have plenty of opportunities to both score and drive runs in.

OUTFIELD

Stud

Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers ($6,200) — Once again, I’m sticking with Yordan Alvarez as the top outfield play for Saturday. He’s been elite in the batter’s box, notably against right-handed pitching. He’s batting .324 with a .447 on-base percentage against righties. Kumar Rocker, a righty, is starting Saturday’s game for the Rangers.

Value

George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays vs. San Diego Padres ($3,300) — Yes, I’m stacking against Buehler. In a six-game slate, why not take advantage of a struggling pitcher? Although Springer isn’t the same All-Star that he was during his prime, he still proves to be a solid bat in Toronto’s lineup. He’s recorded at least one hit in four straight games, but what’s most attractive is his matchup in this spot.
